What furniture goes well with pale yellow walls and neutral carpet?

We just finished our basement and I have a medium size area (15x15) for watching TV. What colors would work? We want at least one leather couch and the tv will be mounted to the wall. I really like the ideas in Pottery Barn, but don't know how to put it with the wall color. ET center wood? couch color? rug color?


Answer:
I think you will definitely be better off using darker woods, like chocolate brown or espresso. Not black, which would be a bit too dark, but darker browns. This will deep the color scheme neutral but avoid too many competing light colors, which would become an issue if you tried to use other light woods and finishes.

- Leather couch: Deep brown
- Entertainment center: Espresso with silver hardware and/or glass finishes
- Rug: Try a combo of dark brown (which will also keep stains at bay) and yellow to tie into your wall color. Or if you can't find yellow, try a lighter neutral, like a light mocha or beige. Here are some rug examples:
